MTN, Glo, 9mobile, Airtel APN Manual Configuration Settings On Devices For Internet Access

Hello guys, Network Nigeria is becoming stressful by the day most we find it very hard to use these networks includes 9Mobile MTN, GLO, and AIRTEL.

You will need the Access Point Network (APN) and internet configuration settings of networks (MTN, Glo, 9mobile and Airtel) if your phone or device does not receive internet settings automatically. This happens with many phones that people buy and they have to add the APN for the network manually.

Often times when you look for APN of Glo, MTN, 9mobile or Airtel, you get the whole internet settings on most pages as also listed below. However, the most important parameter is the APN. You can enter different setting in other fields and they would still work fine.

However we noticed that the APN automatically changed, once you insert your sim in any enabled internet phone. However if your phone still don't change it you are going to make the change by yourself manually.

To manually configure APN settings of any of your device that you are using 9mobile MTN, GLO, and Airtel SIM/network with, all you need to do is to go to the APN settings of the device to configure it.

HOW TO LOCATE APN ACCESS POINT NAME AND CONFIGURE IT?

• Go to Settings on your device. 
• Next, click More Network. 
• And then, click Cellular Networks. 
• If your phone is using two sim at the top you will see the names of the sim/network you can switch to any.
• After that, click on Access Point Names. 

You can Edit or add new APN by clicking on the Plus sign. but meanwhile to edit the current one click on the name and edit it as follows;

GLO MANUAL Configuration Settings

» Account Name: GLO
» Homepage: http://wap.gloworld.com
» Username: wap
» Password: wap
» Access Point or APN: glosecure
» IP or Proxy Address: 010.100.098.022
» Port: 8080

You can receive Glo APN configuration immediately on your phone by sending your “PHONENAME” to 927

For example, Tecno L8 to 927. (just replace “Tecno L8” with the name of your phone)

MTN MANUAL Configuration Settings

» Account Name: MTN
» Homepage: http://wap.mtnonline.com
» Username: web
» Password: web
» Access Point or APN: web.gprs.mtnnigeria.net
» IP or Proxy Address: 10.199.212.2
» Port: 8080

To request for automatic MTN APN configuration, send the word “SETTINGS” to 3888 in an SMS and the settings will be sent to your phone immediately which you should just tap on “SAVE” to activate it as your default APN.

AIRTEL MANUAL Configuration Settings

» Account Name: AIRTEL
» Homepage: http://wap.ng.airtel.com
» Username: Internet
» Password: Internet
» Access Point or APN: internet.ng.zain.com
» IP or Proxy Address: 172.018.254.005
» Port: 8080

to request for automatic APN Settings inside your phone on airtel network, send “internet phonebrand model” to 232. For example, “internet Tecno L8” to 232 in an SMS and you will receive the confirmation via SMS.

Remember to replace “Tecno L8” with the name of your phone.

» APN: 9mobile

» Username: leave blank
» Password: leave blank

To request for an automatic configuration settings, just send an SMS “SETTING” to 790.

After that, tap on the three dots at the top right and then Save your settings and you are good to start surfing the internet with your device if you have airtime or active data subscription on your 9mobile line.
